My second favourite city, New York City!!! I absolutely love visiting this place. It’s similar to Toronto but so much busier and louder. I have visited this city many times for family occasions and weddings, but it was my first time exploring the city on my own.
My intentions for this trip were to visit all the fitness studios and to eat all the healthy food. But…that didn’t happen. I hit the gym just once and spent the rest of my trip exploring the city like I haven’t before. It was awesome finally getting to see all the places I’ve been waiting to see my whole life.
Top of the Rock
This has been on my bucket list for years and I finally got to experience it! The view from up top was insane and it was so cool seeing all the boroughs. I especially liked learning facts about the Rocafeller Centre and how it was built. We went on a Saturday evening so it was pretty busy. I suggest going early in the morning if you want to avoid crowds.
Brooklyn Bridge
I’m so glad we waited till sunset time to visit this place. It was magical. Despite it being super busy with people taking selfies and climbing the bridge (for real) it was so nice to see and cross it to the other side. My only regret is not visiting Dumbo which is so close to the bridge. I was chasing the sun and really wanted to catch Soho before it went down.
Central Park
We were suppose to be attending a live segment of The View, but we got there too late and they closed the doors on us (ya snooze, ya lose). After trying numerous times to get in (the doorman told me to have a good day, which I did) we gave up and went for a walk. We first stopped at this cute Crepe Cafe with the kindest staff and then took a stroll through Central Park. It was my first time visiting the park and I loved it. It was so peaceful and it was nice getting out of the city (even though we were still in the city).
Notes:
We stayed at Hotel 32 32. This Hotel was located right beside The Empire State Building. They had the sweetest staff, complimentary breakfast at Silo cafe located right next door, free access to Crunch Fitness, and the rooms were little suites that included a full kitchen (we fitness people love that haha). I highly recommend staying here.
Taxi’s were less expensive than Uber. We usually walked but if we were rushing to get somewhere on time we hailed down a cab old school style.
