The other day I was thinking of how my habits have drastically changed since six years ago. How much healthier and happier I’ve become since then. I want you to also feel like the best version of your self. I’ve created a list and here are everyday simple lifestyle changes you can practice to live a healthier and happier life.
-
Hydrate
Drink lots of water. Hydrate. You hear it everywhere and it’s so important. Water has many amazing benefits including making your hair shinier, softening your skin and increasing energy levels.
-
Breakfast
Don’t skip breakfast! I can’t believe the number of people who tell me they don’t eat breakfast. You need that fuel to start you off for the day. Make time for breakfast. Actually sit and have your food.
-
Mood
Remind yourself that you have total control of your mood. You can either choose to be in a good or bad mood. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
-
Take the stairs
I always see people crowding the escalators or waiting in line for an elevator. Take the stairs! You’ll burn some calories and get your heart rate up.
-
Positive Friends
Surround yourself with positive people. You don’t have to be friends with anyone that doesn’t make you happy. On that same note, care less of what people think of you. Live the life you want and just make yourself and the people you love happy.
-
Read
Read a book. I don’t know what it is about holding an actual book and turning the pages, but I feel that I absorb more information when I’m physically holding a book. Your brain health is just as important (if not more important) than your physical health. Remember to exercise your brain as well.
-
Omega-3
Add Omega 3 to your diet. Your brain, skin, hair and nails will thank you!
-
Exercise
This was obviously going to make the list. I can’t stress enough how beneficial it is for our bodies to move. You will build muscle, become stronger and lose fat. Exercising is also a total distresser (lowers your bodies cortisol levels). Sometimes when I’m feeling down a good workout puts me in the best mood. I just shift my focus and sweat out any sad feelings I’m having.
-
Sleep
Get enough sleep. I can’t believe how tired our society is (including me but I sleep 7 hours a night and have a 20 minute nap everyday so I’m good). Make sure you’re sleeping earlier. A little tip when sleeping: Put your phone on airplane mode. Apparently phone waves disturb sleep without you even knowing it.

Enjoy life
Every, single, moment of it. This is the only life we know of and it’s short, why not spend it happy?
